Pour cette première édition qui s’est déroulée à l’École d'architecture à Toulouse, Jacques Prades (économiste), Marie-Christine Couthenx (architecte), Nicolas Golovtchenko (sociologue), Loïc Colas (urbaniste) et Olga Panella (artiste) reviennent sur les utopies modernes: des grands ensembles aux villes nouvelles en passant par l’habitat participatif, les friches urbaines, le droit d’habiter face au droit d’être… L’accusation est posée: «Les utopies menacent-elles notre bonheur?» Cet ouvrage est la première retranscription de séance d’une série de trois procès autour du thème des utopies. Il est co-édité avec la Maison de l’architecture Occitanie-Pyrénées (Toulouse), en partenariat avec Architecture In Vivo dans le cadre du programme pédagogique Utopia Lab. La séance est ouverte!

EN — Between vision and realization, the Court of Utopias is a trial, with experts invited to the bar. For this first edition that took place at ENSA Toulouse, Jacques Prades (economist), Marie-Christine Couthenx (architect), Nicolas Golovtchenko (sociologist), Loïc Colas (town planner) and Olga Panella (artist) come back on modern utopias : from large housing estates to new towns, including participatory housing, urban wastelands, the right to live VS the right to be… The accusation is raised: “Do utopias threaten our happiness?” This book is the first session transcript in a serie of three trials on the theme of utopias. It is co-edited with the Maison of Architecture Occitanie-Pyrénées (Toulouse), in partnership with Architecture In Vivo as part of the Utopia Lab educational program. The session is open!

FR — Joanne Pouzenc est architecte, enseignante et commissaire indépendante basée entre Toulouse et Berlin. Elle s’initie au commissariat au sein de la Fondation Bauhaus à Dessau (DE). Parmi ses projets: la platforme Post+capitalist City (2012), les festivals transdisciplinaires Berlin Unlimited (2014) et Make City (2015 et 2018), les conférences Public Space: Fights and Fictions, 36h Factory of Thought à l’Akademie der Künste Berlin (2016), projekt bauhaus Cours Preliminaire: du Bauhaus à la Silicon Valley à la Haus der Kulturen der Welt (2017) ou encore projekt bauhaus Werkstatt: Datatopia à la Floating University (2018) en collaboration avec le magazine ARCH+. How Together, sa dernière publication-installation avec Constructlab a été présentée à la Biennale d'architecture de Chicago en 2019. Elle est l’auteur de nombreux articles et publications à l’international et est fréquemment invitée en tant que critique ou conférencière dans des évènements académiques. Joanne Pouzenc est actuellement directrice de la Maison de l'Architecture Occitanie-Pyrénées, directrice de la publication de Plan Libre, enseignante à l’ENSA Toulouse, doctorante au TESC à l’UT2J à Toulouse, conférencière à NODE, centre pour les études curatoriales et membre active du collectif international ConstructLab.
EN — Joanne Pouzenc is an architect, educator and independent curator based between Toulouse and Berlin. She began curating at the Bauhaus Foundation in Dessau (DE). Amongst her projects: the platform Post+capitalist City (2012), the transdisciplinary festivals Berlin Unlimited (2014) and Make City (2015 and 2018), Public Space conferences: Fights and Fictions, 36h Factory of Thought at the Akademie der Künste Berlin (2016), projekt bauhaus Preliminary Course: from Bauhaus to Silicon Valley to Haus der Kulturen der Welt (2017) and projekt bauhaus Werkstatt: Datatopia at the Floating University (2018) in collaboration with ARCH+ magazine. How Together, her latest publication-installation with Constructlab has been featured in the Chicago Architecture Biennial in 2019. She is the author of numerous articles and publications internationally and is frequently invited as a critic or speaker at academic events. Joanne Pouzenc is currently director of the Maison de l'Architecture Occitanie-Pyrénées, director of the publication Plan Libre, a doctoral student at the TESC at UT2J in Toulouse, lecturer at NODE, center for curatorial studies, educator at the school of architecture ENSA Toulouse and active member of the international collective ConstructLab.

FR — Pierre Vanni est un designer graphique indépendant, en activité depuis 2007. Ses commandes répondent essentiellement aux besoins des institutions culturelles françaises. Depuis 2018 il travaille notamment à la direction de identités visuelles du ThéâtredelaCité, le CND Toulouse-Occitanie. Actif dans le milieu de l’édition indépendante, il s’occupe de la direction artistique des revues Audimat (musique), Habitante (architecture et urbanisme). Curieux du milieu de l’architecture français, il multiplie les collaborations avec le Pavillon de l’Arsenal (Paris), la Maison de l’Architecture Occitanie-Pyrénées (Toulouse), Arc-en-rêve (Bordeaux) ou encore Dominique Perrault Architecture et MBL architectes. En 2017, il remporte le 2e Prix du Festival International de l’Affiche de Chaumont.
EN — Pierre Vanni is a freelance graphic designer, active since 2007. His commissions mainly meet the needs of French cultural institutions. Since 2018 he has been working on the visual identity of the ThéâtredelaCité, the CND Toulouse-Occitanie. Active in the field of independent publishing, he is in charge of the artistic direction of the magazines Audimat (music) and Habitante (architecture and urbanism). Curious about the French architecture scene, he has collaborated with the Pavillon de l’Arsenal (Paris), the Maison de l’Architecture Occitanie-Pyrénées (Toulouse), Arc-en-rêve (Bordeaux) and Dominique Perrault Architecture and MBL Architects. In 2017, he won the 2nd Prize at the International Poster Festival in Chaumont.
